Grace in the Face of Tragedy

I am humbled by the outpouring of support for our friends at Kissa-Bull. I think, for many of us, this is one of our biggest fears. My house can burn to ashes as long as I can get my dogs and cats to safety.

To Sandra, I say, your 5 angels were so lucky to have you in their life. Their last days were much better than their first. They died as loved beings.

To Blogville, I say, you are amazing. I am humble by your love and kindness. Most of all I am humbled by your friendship. Not long ago, I wrote a post about Grace. And, my friends, YOU are Grace.

You humble me to tears.

Our condolences also go to El'bow's family. He was a big love bug and we love the big one's here for sure.

If you want to donate to the Kissa-Bull cause, check out Mayzie's blog.

  1. What a beautiful post. We agree seeing the blog community come together for Sandra and her family has restored a bit of our faith in humanity.

  2. I think it's every dog or cat blogger's worst nightmare. We all can feel the heartache that comes with such a loss. I would be devastated if I were in Sandra's position and I think at times like this, we all feel a stronger sense of community. Tragedy is often a great uniter, and I hope that all of us remember to spend a little more time cherishing our loved ones when we think about these things that can happen to any of us!

  3. It's amazing how we all unite as one to bring a little hope in such a time of despair...this community amazes me everyday by their kind, and generous hearts.
I am currently getting on my dogs nerves..they say I have been hugging on them too much now. But as a mom, I tell them to get over it:)

  6. I think we all hugged our pets a lot more this past weekend. Life can change too quickly with no warning.

  8. Well-stated. I've been away from blogville for a bit and honestly can say that I was missing everyone awfully. I am so saddened by this tragedy, and, yes - it is one of my biggest fears...

  9. I agree. I am always humbled by the people in blogville. :) What an amazing group to be a part of. I have been obsessively turning things off and unplugging things since I heard about this. Of course, that has nothing to do with an electrical fire, but I think it makes me feel better. I had a long talk with MilShelb about how they needed to break a window and run like the wind! I wish they could do that! It always makes me stop and put things in perspective when things like this happen. Milly and Shelby are my heart. I just feel awful for Sandra.

  10. Gosh, what a Most Beautiful postie. And GRACE is the very Most Pawfect word.

Our hearts ache for Miss Sanne, too, having to say goodbye to El'bow. So much loss in a week. But don't you bet they're having a great time all playing together at the Bridge?

    Gentle wiggles & wags,
